Setup checklist
- Start far enough from the rear support that the front foot stays planted.
- Use a torso angle that matches your goal and feels stable.
- Let the front knee travel naturally if it is comfortable; knee travel is not automatically harmful.
- Hold the dumbbells where you can balance and maintain range of motion.
Quick self-test
If you feel jammed at the bottom, lose the front heel, or cannot control the descent, adjust your distance before changing the load.
Watch the setup
A visual demonstration can make stance length and rear-foot setup easier to understand.
